Day 90 - March 31, 2010

In addition to dancing and hiding, another popular activity with my kids is pretending to be tired and take a nap. Here are the kids laying under the kitchen rug pretending to take a nap.

Day 89 - March 30, 2010

Another beautiful day for playing outside. Here are the kids at the park playing Lemonade Stand. Susannah and Heath were serving me lemonade a.k.a. wood chips.

Day 88 - March 29, 2010

Today was the egg hunt at Susannah's preschool. After the hunt, Heath wanted to pull Matt and Susannah in a wagon. I was shocked cause the wagon moved while he was pulling it but Matt said that he was pushing along. I thought that perhaps we had a Hulk on our hands.

Day 87 - March 28, 2010

Here we are at Pedernales Falls State Park. We had the best day at the park. First a short nature hike, then we checked out a Bird Blind before heading the the Falls. Heath really wanted to go into the water. The water is very rough in this area. The scenery was amazing.

Day 86 - March 27, 2010

Susannah and Matt both got guitars for Christmas. Of course, Heath can't be left out so whenever Susannah wants to play guitar, Heath needs to also. Heath is using a hand-me-down Wiggles guitar while Susannah used the purple guitar that Santa left her. My favorite thing about Susannah and her guitar is that whenever she plays she insists on having the guitar lesson books out on the floor, even though she can't read them. So cute.

Day 85 - March 26, 2010

The Austin airport has a family viewing area outside the airport. The small parking lot and picnic table are located parallel to one of the runaways. It is a great place to hang out and see planes land. We even saw a police helicopter taking off right by us. Here are the kids watching the planes.

Day 84 - March 25, 2010

Today, when the kids heard the garage door open, they crawled under the couch pillows in order to scare Daddy. Here they are jumping out from their hiding place. Dancing and hiding seem to be reoccurring events with my kids.

Wednesday, March 24, 2010

Day 83 - March 24, 2010

Here are the kids swinging at My Gym.

Tuesday, March 23, 2010

Day 82 - March 23, 2010

Today was a beautiful day outside so playing outside was a necessity. Susannah rode for a while but Heath was easily distracted by the toy cars we keep in the garage. Shockingly, he is cleaning them up on his own accord.

Day 81 - March 22, 2010

Attack of the spatula eating little brother. Take cover!

Sunday, March 21, 2010

Day 80 - March 21, 2010

I can't believe that I didn't think of this before. Getting my preschooler to change my toddler's diapers! Unfortunately, Susannah already declared that she doesn't change poop diapers. Heath never stays still for me but he did completely cooperate for Susannah.

Day 79 - March 20, 2010

They kids went to a birthday party of a classmate of Susannah. The party favor was a flashing fiber optic wand. The kids spent a ton of time in the dark bathroom (it is located on interior walls and doesn't have any windows) waving around their flashlights. I couldn't play with them in the dark cause the flashing light was making feel like I might have a seizure. But, boy, did they love it.

Day 78 - March 19, 2010

Matt had the day off of work and we took the kids to the Star of Texas Rodeo and Fair. The kids had a blast. Susannah went on 2 carnival rides, while Heath and I played in the little kid area (ride on toys and trucks). We also went to KidTown where they had cheese samples, a petting zoo and puppet shows. But the best part for the kids was the outdoors stage. They both loved listening to the live music. Heath is so into the music in this picture that he wouldn't even look at the camera.

Day 77 - March 18, 2010

All mothers know that when the kids get quiet, something must be up. So, when the kids were in the other room and I didn't hear any noise, I grabbed my camera to see what I could catch them doing. Luckily, it wasn't anything naughty. They were just hanging out under Heath's train table.

Day 76 - March 17, 2010

After their first breakfast of real food, the kids were playing second breakfast with pretend food. As you can see, there was quite the assortment of items, included stuffed animals and cars.

Tuesday, March 16, 2010

Day 75 - March 16, 2010

Since I have started this blog, Susannah has pointed out several times when something that they were doing would make a good picture. Today the kids were sitting on the recliner today and Susannah called me over to tell me that this would make a good picture for a blog. And indeed, it did.

Day 74 - March 15, 2010

Every month with our MOMS Club, we have a craft day for the kids. Here are the kids at our friend Kerry's house after making muslin pouches decorated with fabric paint. Susannah was happy to pose for the picture but Heath wasn't having it.

Sunday, March 14, 2010

Day 73 - March 14, 2010

To continue our weekend of animals, we headed to the Austin Zoo to check out the wildlife. The kids were tired and stopped for a snack break in front of the lion enclosure.

Saturday, March 13, 2010

Day 72 - March 13, 2010

We've been trying to do more fun outdoors things with the kids and I've wanted to visit the Johnson City Exotic Zoo and Resort for a while. The weather is now starting to get warmer and we headed out to the zoo. Here are the kids in the feeding area with a deer. We then took a tractor ride around the property and was able to touch and hand feed exotic animals like a camel, many types of deer, llamas, ostrich, cows and bison. I touched a zebra!

Friday, March 12, 2010

Day 71 - March 12, 2010

I was inspired by the new issue of the Food Network Magazine cover and make hens in a nest for the kids for breakfast. It is a fried egg in the middle of a piece of toast. They thought it was very exciting to have an egg in the middle of toast and were even more excited to pick out their cookie cutter shapes. Heath's egg whole was a triangle and Susannah's was a flower.

Day 70 - March 11, 2010

More dancing from the Smith kids. Too cute!

Wednesday, March 10, 2010

Day 69 - March 10, 2010

The kids received a surprise birthday package from my friend, Denyse. They were very excited for the unexpected gifts. Heath got a toy telephone and Susannah got a super cute tutu and matching headband and an Angelina Ballerina book. Thanks so much Denyse (who shares a birthday with Susannah).

Tuesday, March 9, 2010

Day 68 - March 9, 2010

Today was an absolutely beautiful day in Austin. Sunny and warm so we hit the park this afternoon. Heath and Susannah had a great time enjoying the sunshine.

Monday, March 8, 2010

Day 67 - March 8, 2010

Here are the kids and Matt on a train. I think that pretty much every day Heath makes a train out of the chairs. It is very cute.

Sunday, March 7, 2010

Day 66 - March 7, 2010

Here is more dancing by the kids. Heath is playing pretend music on an old portable CD player and Susannah was twirling with the hula-hoop.

Saturday, March 6, 2010

Day 65 - March 6, 2010

The first Saturday of the month at Home Depot is a kids workshop. It's a free kids craft project. Susannah has been doing them for about a year and has quite a collection of wooden crafts. Here she is displaying her newest one, a bird feeder shaped rain water collector (the water collection cup is facing her so you can't see it). Heath and I looked for the forklifts while Daddy helped Susannah.

Day 64 - March 5, 2010

Well, both kids were sick and it is almost over. Since I wanted to keep them home and away from other kids for one more day, I decided to do a fun project this afternoon. Soft pretzels. I have been wanting to try it for a while. The kids had fun rolling out the dough. I guess I didn't explain the process that well cause after I got Heath's dough in the pretzel shape, he tried to eat the raw dough. Then the poor thing had a hard time waiting until they were cooked and cooled. They had a great time.

Thursday, March 4, 2010

Day 63 - March 4, 2010

Every since Heath's birthday, he has been into birthday cakes (happy birthday cakes, as he calls them). Whenever he can recreate that birthday moment, he takes it. Heath and Susannah have created pretzel candles on the PB&J sandwiches at lunch today. Heath has his hand out cause it was cautioning that the candles are hot. Susannah was in the middle of blowing her candles out.

Wednesday, March 3, 2010

Day 62 - March 3, 2010

I said that the kids were into trains. Here they are at the counter sitting in a train. Perhaps they watch too much Dinosaur Train on PBS.

Tuesday, March 2, 2010

Day 61 - March 2, 2010

This is one of my most favorite pictures so far. Susannah is in the midst of jumping up in the air. She looks so rock-n-roll.

Monday, March 1, 2010

Day 60 - March 1, 2010

Here are the kids at snack time today. They were dancing around in circles. Thankfully, they stopped so I could take a picture of them.
