Day 151 - May 31, 2010

We spent today, Memorial Day, hanging out at home and enjoying ourselves outside. The kids had a lot of fun with this new sprinkler ball that Grandma Kathy sent them.

Day 150 - May 30, 2010

We had such a wonderful time at Pedernales Falls State Park when we went last month that we decided to go for another visit. Here are the kids sitting up on the scenic view point overlooking the falls.

Day 149 - May 29, 2010

Heath has been feeling under the weather for the last couple of days with a fever. He woke up from his nap very grumpy today. Susannah offered to sit with him while watching TV to help him feel better.

Day 147 - May 27, 2010

After throwing all of the couch pillows onto the floor, the kids decided to hide. Heath is trying to hide under a pillow and Susannah is trying to get into the fabric cover for the dining room table leaf.

Day 146 - May 26, 2010

The kids, mostly Heath, have been very interested in smoothies (mostly green smoothies) lately. Here they are enjoying some smoothies with lunch.

Day 145 - May 25, 2010

The kids love swinging, a lot. They swing by themselves and love to swing on the two kid swing. And Susannah is always so watchful of Heath since sometimes he stands up - she always tells him to sit down.

Day 144 - May 24, 2010

This picture is a rarity. Heath is pretty serious about his truck/car play so I was surprised that he was allowing Susannah to participate with him.

Day 143 - May 23, 2010

Daddy's home! The kids were really excited to wait in the airport for Matt. As Matt was coming down the escalator, Heath kept yelling "why daddy standing behind that guy?"

Day 142 - May 22, 2010

Heath has become very interested in lining up his cars and trucks. He sets up lines of them and then moves them around to different places in the family room. Today, Heath had the trucks set up as a jail and the kids were trapped inside.

Day 141 - May 21, 2010

Matt is out of town for work so it is just the three of us. The kids and I were making pancakes for breakfast when Susannah decided that she needed some snuggles from her brother. She has a very sweet soul.

Day 139 - May 19, 2010

Heath loves playing with my oven mits. He puts them on and runs around the house yelling "robot hands." He has been doing this for a while and the other day he finally took his game to the next level - robot boots. Heath put the oven mits on his feet like he was wearing boots. As is the way of siblings, Susannah needed in on the fun too. So here are both kids with robot boots.

Day 137 - May 17, 2010

It was quiet in the other room so I knew that something was up with the kids. I heard a noise, not quite sure what it could be. Then, in came Susannah pulling Heath in the wagon meant for blocks. I am sure that there is a warning on there somewhere that says not for use with children. Luckily, Heath was fine and very happy to have a ride.

Day 136 - May 16, 2010

Here are the kids doing some "work." Susannah is working on her Disney Princess computer and Heath is working with stickers.

Day 135 - May 15, 2010

This cardboard box has been around for at least 6 months. Been in the garage for a while but was taken out today as a distraction. The kids were using it as a slide.

Day 134 - May 14, 2010

Susannah got a beading kit for Christmas. Heath is in a stage where he must be involved in everything that big sister does. So Susannah was at the table trying to make a necklace and I was trying to distract Heath and keep him away from her. Beading is not one of the items that Susannah wants to share.

Day 133 - May 13, 2010

Well, it's getting hot and it is time to play outside in the water. Susannah is enjoying our new wiggle sprinkler while Heath splashes away at the water table.

Day 131 - May 11, 2010

We've started a backyard raised vegetable garden. Even though it is probably too late to grow seeds, we've planted a couple different varieties of beans and peppers and transplanted some tomatoes. I guess we'll see what comes up. Here are the kids at the butterfly garden of the garden center where we were purchasing our supplies.

Day 130 - May 10, 2010

This picture might not look like a lot is going on but there was a lot of pretending going on. The lights are actually off because Susannah was planning on watching a movie on TV (see the wooden chairs set up in the background). Heath is providing support behind the scenes while Susannah looked for her pig shaped flashlight (which was never found). We ended up having to leave the house before the end of this pretend session could be played out. Who knows what would have ended up happening.

Day 129 - May 9, 2010

It's Mother's Day and we're off on another Sunday adventure. This time to Blanco State Park. This park was nice but much smaller than the other parks that we've been at lately. There was a nice trail that ran along the river and lots of places for picnic lunches.

Day 128 - May 8, 2010

Today is Saturday, thus soccer day. Here are the kids leaving the field this morning.

Day 127 - May 7, 2010

Almost every time that we go to the park, the kids want to swing. It is kind of funny since we have perfectly good swings in the backyard. They love to swing. And I guess I can't complain about it since at least in this park, the swings are in the shade, unlike our backyard.

Here is Susannah helping her brother with a puzzle. It started out as Susannah doing the puzzle but then Heath had to get in on the action. But that is the way siblings work.

Day 123 - May 3, 2010

More pretend for the Smith kids. As usual, they were being kitties. And they said that they were hungry so they have bowls of cat food a.k.a. cereal. Heath used his "paw" but Susannah ate from the bowl with her mouth. I remember doing that as a kid too.

Day 122 - May 2, 2010

Since Sunday is turning out to be family adventure day, we headed out to another local park. Here are the kids at Pace Bend Park. Unfortunately, Heath wasn't feeling that well and refused to have his shoes on, thus didn't actually walk one step in the park. He didn't get his exercise in but Matt and I sure did carrying him the entire time.

This afternoon we took a trip to the Austin Zoo since we hadn't been there in several months. Here are the kids checking out the turtles.
