Day 241 - August 29, 2010

With the pending patio cover construction, we decided to get a dog bed for Festy so he could be comfortable inside the house. He'll need to be inside while the crew is working outside. Susannah was pretending to be a dog resting on the dog bed.

Day 240 - August 28, 2010

The kids were invited to a birthday party at a local splash park. The chocolate cake was delicious and the kids had a great time splashing around in the water.

Day 238 - August 26, 2010

I was out for the morning working on getting a building permit for our sunroom/patio overhaul. Matt made the kids lunch and Heath started dipping his finger in the ketchup and saying that he had a "chicken finger." Strangely enough, they were having fish sticks for lunch so I don't know where the chicken finger came from. But it was cute.

Day 237 - August 25, 2010

Here are the kids being silly. They were working on some crazy game where they grab the toy broom back and forth. Love this action shot of Heath getting some broom in the face.

Day 236 - August 24, 2010

Traveling can be hard and sometimes a bit boring. Thankfully, there are exciting things like airport trams that take you from one terminal to another. The kids had a blast and Heath was so excited to be on the train.

Day 235 - August 23, 2010

We rented a mini-van so we could drive from the airport to Grandma and Grandpa's. One of the many benefits of having a mini-van was automatically opening doors. There are several buttons in the van that we can press to open the doors. Every single time the door opened, Heath would say "thank you door." It was so cute.

Day 234 - August 22, 2010

Today Susannah, Daddy and I had a great time creating Play-Doh animals while Heath nibbled on a pretzel.

Day 233 - August 21, 2010

This was definitely the highlight of our South Carolina trip - riding on Uncle Mike's boat. The kids loved it and both of them even got a chance to steer the boat. On the downside, it was very bright on the boat.

Day 232 - August 20, 2010

Grandma and Grandpa have a brand new pool that just opened in their neighborhood. They have a shallow kiddie pool that was perfect for Heath and he spend a lot of time splashing around in there.

Day 231 - August 19, 2010

Here we are in the Dallas Airport on our way to South Carolina to visit Grandma Pat and Grandpa Joe. We had a bit of a wait for our connecting flight and the kids (mostly Heath) had a lot of fun running around exploring the terminal.

Day 230 - August 18, 2010

The kids have been taking showers instead of baths for about 9 months. They both have a lot of fun in the shower and love to be squirted with the shower head and "drinking from the fire hose" as Daddy calls it.

Day 228 - August 16, 2010

Today at Susannah's school they had an end of the summer party with a petting zoo. There were goats, a baby deer, a huge bunny and a little pig. Here they are checking out the animals. Heath was very interested in the animals and wouldn't look at the camera so Susannah ended up "helping" him by moving his face so he was facing the camera. What a helper.

Day 226 - August 14, 2010

We went to the Ice Cream Festival this morning. They kids had a ton of fun and even went on their first carnival rides. Heath and Susannah had a blast riding in this airplane.

Day 225 - August 13, 2010

This morning we met up with some friends at a splash pad. There were tons of sprinklers and water sprayers. The kids had tons of fun running around and getting wet.

Day 224 - August 12, 2010

Here are the kids enjoying some yogurt pops after dinner. Poor Heath. He just loves popicles but always ends up with a brain-freeze and still tries to eat more.

Day 222 - August 10, 2010

This morning the kids were playing a silly game of what Susannah was calling "bang the bib." Basically they were giggling and banging their bibs up and down on the table. I just love how silly things can totally entertain kids.

Day 221 - August 9, 2010

Sometimes Susannah gets lucky. And today was one of those days. Heath was letting Susannah play with his trucks. In fact, he was happy to have help lining up trucks (an activity that he isn't doing as often these days).

Day 220 - August 8, 2010

The kids were pretending that the couch was a garbage truck. Susannah said that it was a silly garbage truck since she was the driver (and she's still on the right side). Perhaps it was an English garbage truck.

I am very thankful to have kids who usually remain in good spirits while sick. Both kids are sick today. Heath with a 102 fever and Susannah with a low fever and runny nose. Luckily, sickness didn't stop them from working together to get this puzzle done.

Day 217 - August 5, 2010

Here are the kids playing. For some reason, Heath decided to wear his Elmo harness. Now ... the child has never actually worn it before. I bought it a year or so ago but he never let me put it on him (smart kid) but he was very happy to wear it around today. Again, Susannah is doing the purpose pout.

Heath is a boy and it is in his nature to be more physical then Susannah. He often is trying to sit on her or lay on top of her. He was sitting on her today when he decided that he wanted to see her teeth. Heath is lucky that Susannah often plays along with this game.
