Here are the kids playing in Susannah's room. Her room is usually her sanctuary and Heath doesn't get to play in there. But today was a rare moment and not only was Heath allowed in her room but she also let him play in there with her for a while.

More patio time with popsicle. Susannah already ate hers but Heath dropped his so he is still working on his replacement popsicle.

Day 269 - September 26, 2010

More playing on the patio. There will probably be a lot of pictures of the patio on the blog from now on. Susannah is pretending a sippy cup of milk is a bottle and Heath is helping to clean up. As you can see there is a chair in the background. Well, we ate outside yesterday (to celebrate the patio completion) and some ants managed to find some Popsicle drippings. So the chair needed to be hosed off. Heath has his bottle of cleaner to help me out.

Day 268 - September 25, 2010

Yea! Our furniture arrived today and I finally declare the patio project done and finished! Here are the kids enjoying some apples on the new rocking loveseat.

Here are the kids playing outside on our newly finished patio. The furniture that we ordered has yet to be delivered but the kids have a little picnic table that is just perfect for them.

More smoothie drinking. The kids have really been on a smoothie kick lately and we make one almost every day.

Here is Susannah helping Heath play a game on my iPhone. Heath has yet to master the skill of touch and drag which is needed for many iPhone apps. Luckily, Susannah is happy to help him out.

Here are the kids pretending that the laundry baskets are nest. Susannah = purpose pout. *Note to readers - I am noticing more and more that the kids are less than thrilled to have their pictures taken. They might refuse to look at a camera after this year is up.

Here are the kids testing out a chair for our new patio. Who knew that patio furniture was so hard to shop for and so expensive. Luckily, we did find something we liked in our price range. What we purchased is not the chair in the photo.

Here are the kids working a some arts and crafts projects. Susannah is gluing together a foam fairy and Heath is doing stickers.

Day 260 - September 17, 2010

I love it when kids can entertain themselves with unusual items. Heath played with these orange tile spacers for about 45 minutes this morning and then he and Susannah played with them again this afternoon. It is amazing how something so simple can keep their attention for so long.

Day 259 - September 16, 2010

Heath is back on a smoothie kick and asking for them every day. This smoothie, which was quite tart and contained mango, peaches, apricots and romaine lettuce, was sucked down by the kids. While I was cleaning up from the smoothie creation in the kitchen, I could here the kids in the living room talking about how they were having "margarita smoothies." Opps! Where did they learn that from?

We're stuck at home while the crew is working on the patio cover and front door repair. So we decided to make some cookies. Here are my little helpers.

Here are the kids enjoying their most favorite breakfast - vanilla yogurt with frozen wild blueberries and fruit on the side (today it was strawberries). The kids eat yogurt and berries 3-4 times a week. Note Heath's bib made from a dish towel tied around his neck.

Honestly, we get the host for our money with our annual Austin Zoo membership. It is so close to the house and same enough that we can see all the animals in a morning or afternoon. Here's my family in front of a lion.

The kids were pretending that the cars and Tuperware lids were pies. They were working very hard on getting them cut up and served.

The new pool at the YMCA opened up this week. It is wonderful. The kids love the slide shown behind them. Just the right size for them.
